EHL Jr Seahawks

Coach Zaniboni grew up in Plymouth, MA, playing his high school hockey for Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury. In high school, Zaniboni won three State Championships and was voted MVP in both his Junior and Senior years. Furthermore, Zaniboni was awarded the ESPN Male Athlete of the Year in 2000. The stellar netminder then set off to play junior hockey in both the USHL and the NAHL before accepting a scholarship to Division I school,  Northern Michigan University (CCHA).

At Northern Michigan University, Zaniboni was awarded the Peranni Cup his Senior year for most game stars, and he also took home the community service award in both his Junior and Senior seasons. Zaniboni a graduated with a B.S in Business Marketing before continuing to a professional hockey career in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), Central Hockey League (CHL), International Hockey League (IHL), and Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). Prior to retiring and becoming a coach he was awarded the team MVP and Goalie of the Year while winning his first professional championship with the Mississippi Surge (SPHL). Check out Zaniboni's stats throughout his hockey career.

Aside from a successful playing career, Zaniboni has also proven to be a successful junior hockey coach by receiving the Coach of the Year award for three consecutive seasons. During that time, Zaniboni also lead his team to two consecutive league titles, as well as two national tournaments. The record speaks for itself at 210-56-8 with the Bozeman Icedogs and Dells Ducks. However, just like most coaches across the junior hockey landscape, Zaniboni is most proud of his NCAA Commitments. Zaniboni averages over 16 players per season advancing to a higher level of play (NCAA, ACHA, Tier I/Tier II and Pro Hockey), and he currently has a pair of former players on the NHL Central Scouting list.

Since becoming head coach of the Seahawks Jr Hockey Team in 2017, Zaniboni has been awarded the 2018-2019 Coach of the Year, helped many players move on to College playing careers and helped coach for the USA Hockey National Camps for the last 3 years.

Steve is a seasoned coach who has been around the game his entire life and coaching at the youth level for over 20 years. His involvement is, and always has been, for the kids and wants nothing more than to help them along their way. His dedication to the kids and the community speaks for itself.

Assistant Coach: Dave Nolan

Coach Nolan is from Easton, MA and currently lives in Yarmouthport. His love for hockey began as a kid as soon as he could skate. Dave grew up playing for the Brockton Boxers and the AAA clubs at NECDL. In high school, Coach Nolan played varsity hockey at Oliver Ames. Coach Nolan is very passionate about hockey, learning the game and is excited to help develop the skills of young hockey players.

Born and raised on Cape Cod, Coach Kent began playing hockey at the age of three and accumulated many accomplishments throughout her career. 

As a freshman, Kent was the first female to make the boys Varsity team at Dennis-Yarmouth High School and later went on to play College Hockey while being selected for the first round women's Olympic team. Unfortunately, a major accident prior to those games would end her playing career and shatter her dreams of making the Olympic team. 

Today, Jess shares her love for hockey with youth players and has been doing so as a coach since 2003. Her experience in the military and her current occupation as a Police officer makes her a tough but supportive and knowledgable coach.

2009 Seahawks Elite

A Barnstable native, Coach Chip King was immersed in hockey from a very early age, skating for various AAA organizations from mites until high school.  He went on to play at the varsity level for the Barnstable Red Raiders during his time at Barnstable High School. During his college years, Coach King understood the importance of life outside the sports arena and decided to focus on his future including being an entrepreneur and owner of the company, Parking Lines.  

The love he had for the game as a youth continues to this day, which is why inspiring that same passion in today’s youth is so important to him as a coach.  He has coached youth hockey for the past five seasons across the EHF and the BHL, leading the Seahawks ‘09 Squirt Minor team to the Seahawks’ first BHL banner in 2019, which proudly hangs in the HYCC Kennedy rink.  Coach King’s goals are to help young athletes develop the skill and mindset needed to enjoy their own high school careers in the future and to let the love of the game burn brightly in their hearts for a lifetime. He focuses on instilling strong fundamental knowledge of the game as well as good sportsmanship and values in his players using an old school, spirited style of coaching to drive these goals home.

Chris grew up in Barnstable and played varsity hockey at Barnstable High School. He has been a coach with the Seahawks organization since its inaugural season. He is a very committed coach who loves the game and brings a lot of emotion and energy to the rink every day.

2011 Seahawks Elite

Sean was born and raised on Cape Cod and grew up in West Barnstable. A graduate of Barnstable High School, Sean, was named to the league's all-star team while playing Varsity Hockey at BHS.

Upon graduation, he furthered his hockey career by playing junior hockey for the Rhode Island Sharks, of the EJHL where he also played on the league all-star team for two consecutive seasons.

After two seasons of junior hockey, Coach O'Brion went on to play Div. III at Elmira College in Elmira, NY. 

Coach Sean has been helping coach youth hockey as an assistant coach in the Seahawks hockey organization for the past few years.  

Assistant Coach: Josh Rupani

Josh grew up on the cape and played varsity hockey for four years. He was captain of the DY High School hockey team for two years. After high school, he went on to play junior hockey for the Canton Rangers and has spent the last four years coaching or volunteering with youth hockey programs on the Cape. Josh believes in having fun, working hard, and teaching the game he has loved for over 20 years.  

Assistant Coach: Bill Zaniboni

Coach Zaniboni, a Plymouth, MA native, brings a depth of junior hockey understanding and coaching to the Seahawks, with over 18 years of coaching and 5 seasons of professional hockey experience.
 
He spent his high school hockey years at Catholic Memorial in West Roxbury, MA. As goaltender for the three-time state championship team, he was voted team MVP both his junior and senior year.
 
Zaniboni entered juniors playing for both Tri-City and Sioux Falls in the United States Hockey League (USHL). He ended his career with the Soo Indians in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) after accepting a scholarship to play Division I hockey with Northern Michigan University. Here he earned the Peranni Cup for receiving the most game stars a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business.
 
Following college, Zaniboni went on to fulfill his dream of playing professional hockey in the East Coast (ECHL), Central (CHL),  International (IHL) and Southern Professional Hockey Leagues. Prior to his retirement, he was awarded the team MVP and Goalie of the Year while winning his first professional championship with the Mississippi Surge. 
 
As a head coach of successful junior hockey teams since 2011, Zaniboni has grown an extensive network of Junior, Major Junior and College Hockey contacts while simultaneously gaining a reputation for moving his players on to college hockey programs. He has been awarded coach of the year in 2014 (Mnjhl) 2015 (Usphl -Midwest), 2016 (Usphl -Midwest), 2018 (EHL) seasons, as well as leading his former team to two consecutive league titles and two national tournaments.  Zaniboni prides himself on mentoring and working extensively with players to help them progress both on and off the ice.

Mike is in his 2nd year as a coach with the Seahawks. He brings a lot of hockey experience and knowledge as a former collegiate and professional hockey player.

Mike was a 4 year stand out at Elmira College and finished off with a 5-year career in the minors. He also had over 100 points in college hockey and 269 points in the minors in only 192 regular-season games.

Brian was born and raised in Plymouth, MA. He played AAA hockey in the Metropolitan Boston Hockey League and later Coyle Cassidy HS during his High School playing career. Coach Bradley has coached youth hockey for the past 5 seasons. He has helped lead the Seahawks ‘09 squirt team to a championship during the 2018-2019 season where they received the BHL banner that proudly hangs in the HYCC Kennedy rink.

Coach Greene is from upstate New York and later moved to Lake Placid, NY where he played high school hockey at Northwood Prep School. Following prep school, he left to play junior hockey in Canada in the Central Junior Hockey League (now CCHA) for the Hawkesbury Hawks. Before playing juniors, Coach Greene had been drafted by the Erie Otters in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). After his first season of junior hockey, Coach Greene went on to play two seasons of major juniors for the Erie Otters in the OHL. 

Coach Greene then went on to play professional hockey after a successful junior career. He attended the Ottawa Senators (NHL) training camp and also the Albany Riverrats (AHL) camp where he signed with their affiliate in the Central Hockey League (CHL).

Coach Greene went on to play 9 seasons at the professional level in the Central Hockey League (CHL), East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), and the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL).

Coach Greene eventually hung up his skates in order to get behind the bench as a coach. He went on to coach juniors as an assistant in the Western States Hockey League (WSHL) for 3 seasons in California with the Valencia Flyers. He then took a head coaching position with a high school program for the varsity team, as well as the JV team, in the L.A. Kings High School League (LAKHSL) with the West Ranch Wildcats. 


Hockey has been a part of Coach Greene’s life for many years, from his playing days to now coaching. Everything hockey has done for him, he enjoys giving back to the game and helping kids learn and love it too!



Youth Development Consultant - Erick Kainen

Coach Erick Kainen hails from Wellesley, MA. He began coaching regularly at Mike Geragosians, longtime goalie coach of Boston University, clinics and crafted his approach to coaching goalies under Mike’s guidance. 

He later became the Goalie Coach and Varsity Assistant for Quincy High School (QHS) in 2013-2014. In his two years working with Ted Walsh, QHS advanced to the tournament both times, ending a 5-year drought.  After QHS, Erick had the opportunity to coach at BC High exclusively as the goalie coach in 2015-2016. The Eagles went undefeated in the regular season and lost in the Super 8 Semifinal that season. In 2016, he was named head coach of Everett High School.

After stepping away from head coaching, Erick became a goalie coach with USA Hockey’s Warren Strelow Program and National Player Development Camp.  Most recently he served as goalie coach at Tufts University of the NESCAC in 2019-2020.  Every year Erick teaches and certifies hundreds of local coaches as a Coordinator for USA Hockey’s CEP program in Greater Boston.  He still coaches with Mike Geragosian, runs his own goalie clinics, and created the Teaching and Coaching Podcast.  Erick enthusiastically explores with various guests how educators and coaches can effectively teach new skills to youths and adults in all walks of life. Professionally, Erick teaches and designs History curriculum in public schools.  He firmly believes that THE JOURNEY OF LEARNING IS THE REWARD!
